Located at Rua do Sol, 117, Centro, in São Luís (MA), the Postgraduate Program in Law and Institutions of the Justice System (PPGDIR) occupies the space where the traditional Faculty of Law of São Luís, created in 1918. Housed in one of the most beautiful mansions in the Historic Center of São Luís, right in front of the wonderful Arthur Azevedo Theater, PPGDIR, approved in 2010 by CAPES, aims to contribute decisively to the advancement of the science of law, through rigorous training of its master's and doctoral students. It has a Sector Library with almost 10,000 recently acquired national and imported titles and access to several databases, including Heinonline and Vlex, which allow direct and comprehensive consultation of hundreds of periodicals from around the world. It is coordinated by Prof. Dr. Paulo Roberto Barbosa Ramos, responsible for its creation project. Also part of its teaching staff are doctors Artenira da Silva e Silva Sauaia, Cássius Guimarães Chai, Cláudio Alberto Gabriel Guimarães, Edith Maria Barbosa Ramos, Márcia Haydée Porto de Carvalho, Mônica Fontenelle Carneiro, Newton Pereira Ramos, Paulo de Tarso Brandão , Paulo Velten Pereira, Pedro Gonçalo Tavares Trovão do Rosário and Roberto Carvalho Veloso. And professors doctors Eudes Vitor Bezerra and Márcia Célia Delduque Nogueira Pires de Sá as visitors.
