Among, on one part, the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (from now on “UC Chile”) a Public Law Corporation of higher education, having its registered head offices at Avenida Libertador Bernardo O’ Higgins 340, Santiago, Chile, represented by its President, Professor Ignacio Sánchez Díaz, And, on the other Universidade Federal do Maranhão (from now on “UFMA”), having its registered head offices at Av. dos Portugueses, 1966 - Vila Bacanga, CEP: 65080-805, São Luís - MA, Brasil, represented by its President, Professor Dr. Fernando Carvalho Silva. Together referred to as the “Participants” or “Parties”, and with the objective of promoting mutual understanding between the parties, they have decided to sign the following Agreement of Cooperation and Exchange, from now on “The Agreement” or “Agreement”, with the purpose of encouraging teaching, students and staff exchange at central level, contributing in the internationalization project that might make them possible.
