PPGS/CCIM

The Post-Graduate Program in Sociology (PPGS), approved by CAPES on September 5, 2018, offers a master's course at the Centro Campus of the Federal University of Maranhão, in the city of Imperatriz-MA. It is a program linked to the Center for Social Sciences, Health and Technology (CCSST) and the Degree Course in Human Sciences / Sociology. With the teaching staff composed of members from the campuses of the cities of Imperatriz, São Luís, Bacabal, and the Federal University of Tocantins, PPGS materializes the work of a network of researchers who have been mobilized in the construction of interpretations and reflections about the state of Maranhão, more broadly, and also of the Tocantins region, marked by the borders and transition between the North and Northeast regions. Composing a network of Post-Graduations at the national level, the PPGS aims to promote the development of sociological research that can be socialized and exposed at national and international events in the area, and that result in reports and publications that add up, not only, to production and dissemination of knowledge, but that also serves as guiding documents for public policies, conflict mediation and support for state agencies and any actors that may influence and interfere in certain social realities.
