TITLE: "On regularization problem in the quark phase: an application in neutron stars”
SPEAKER: DR. CARLISSON MILLER (IBM / IFT-UNESP)
ABSTRACT: It is well known that neutron stars provide a way to explore the cold and dense QCD phases. Observations have indicated that neutron stars have strong magnetic fields. However, nobody understands definitely the mechanism that generates such strong magnetic fields. Since quark matter can possibly be present at high densities, presence of quark ferromagnetic phase in high density quark matter has also been suggested as possible explanation of large magnetic field associated. So, this spin polarization in the quark matter has been well explored in the subsequent literature using NJL (Nabu-Jona-Lasínio) model. But, it is known that some QFTs, like NJL model, in medium faces a regularization problem that impacts the solution. In this talk, I will review the spin polarization quark phase within NJL model and show the preliminary results of fixing the regularization problem.
